Meet the Champions
The Champions are the incredible organisations and individuals who provide some of the match funding used in the Christmas Challenge. You can meet some of these organisations and individuals below. If you are interested in becoming a Champion, why not find out more?
The Reed Foundation
The Reed Foundation has supported the Christmas Challenge since the beginning due to Sir Alec Reed’s influential involvement in both organisations. The Foundation has a broad interest of charities that it supports through the campaign.
“The power of the Christmas Challenge is simply too good to keep to myself, and I would be delighted to share it with you as we safeguard the future of the charities closest to our hearts.” – Sir Alec Reed CBE
The Childhood Trust
The Childhood Trust’s involvement in the Christmas Challenge stems back to 2013. They have a simple vision: to support children in poverty in London. Through the Christmas Challenge, they have supported charities who share this powerful vision.
“We are delighted to be working with the Big Give. Their innovative approach to fundraising has enabled the Trust to deliver valuable resources to our partner charities – improving the lives of young people in London.”
– Grant Gordon, Chair of Trustees
Candis Club produce Candis, one of the UK’s top-selling women’s magazines. They have been a Champion since 2010 and support charities who are working in the UK to improve people’s health. They also regularly feature charities they support in their magazine.
“The Big Give Christmas Challenge was seen as an opportunity to increase the value of our donation by matching funds from other donors, thereby raising more funds for health charities. Supporting health charities in the Big Give Christmas Challenge has been a ‘win win’ situation for both ourselves and the charities involved.”
– Christine Blackford, Joint Managing Director
