Mountain Leader Training and Equipment for 1st Upton-by-Chester Scout Group.

The Big Idea

Hill walking with a team of Scouts achieves the development skills that will count towards their DOE, Chief Scout and Queens Scouts Awards. But to do this we require the correct equipment and training to enable us to provide this activity safely within the guidelines set out by the Scout association and the recognised outside organisations.

Details

We are a very active Scout Group and we want to provide the children in our Scout Group with the best opportunities we can in helping them develop. We require a grant to provide the funding for training and equipment to enable our Scout Group to take children Hill walking. In life all we can do is give children the best opportunity to become good adults, the rest is up to them. We can help them understand teamwork and help the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual and social potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities, by providing challenging activities, lead by trained adults.
Hill walking with a team of Scouts achieves all of these development skills and will count towards their DOE, Chief Scout and Queens Scouts Awards. But to do this we require the correct equipment and training to enable us to provide this activity safely within the guidelines set out by the Scout association and the recognised outside organisations.

We now have the adults who are happy to take children Hill Walking, but they need training and equipment to do this.
