Amber Foundation
Mission Statement
Amber helps young people marginalised through unemployment, homelessness, substance misuse, criminal activity and attitudinal problems, to develop the skills, confidence and motivation they need to find direction in life, a rewarding career and a sense of their own self-worth in the community.
We focus on practical teaching, responsibility, respect, dreams and desires, setting goals and working to achieve them and this enables young people (known as Amberteers) to develop their interests, discover their strengths and learn how to live and work successfully with others. We are different because we are residential and can address a young person's range of personal issues under one roof as well as addressing all the barriers to a successful, independent life - life skills, basic educational skills, how to manage a tenancy and how to decide on and maintain a job.
