NSPCC

Mission Statement

Our purpose is to end cruelty to children. Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential.

From helplines to therapeutic services, the NSPCC runs over 180 projects that aim to prevent abuse to children, protect them from abuse and help them overcome the effects of abuse.

We also seek to achieve cultural, social and political change – influencing legislation, policy, practice, attitudes and behaviours.

We aim to achieve four key objectives to realise our vision by 2010:
- to mobilise everyone to take action to end cruelty
- to provide children with the help, support and environment they need to stay safe from cruelty
- to find ways of working with communities to keep children safe from cruelty
- to be, and be seen as, someone to turn to for children and young people

In order to do the utmost for the children and young people we seek to protect, the NSPCC must continue to secure financial support at all levels. The NSPCC is reliant on the generosity and dedication of its supporters for over 90 per cent of its income. If donations stopped tomorrow we would be forced to shut all of our services within six months.
