Mission Statement

We have an antidote to violent and negative behaviour in young people.

Our objectives are to work with young people in the capcity of skills and citazenship training. All work to be carried out in a nurturing and caring environment. We have found that enabling creative practice in difficult community groups such as, young offenders, for those whom school is not working,drug rehabilitation and others. The work is beneficial for society in a number of ways. We teach trainees to carve and sculpt stone along with other creative practices. This helps them become open to changing negative behaviour patterns. From this platform we are able to direct trainees into further education, construction skills and their own "micro economies". Students work through their difficulties on a tight modular basis. During the training they learn to accept more discipline and are challenged accordingly. The process leaves students having a great sense of achievement{something they have never been able to experience}. Students learn what they perceive to be a skill that was out their reach with a tangible outcome from a piece of stonecraft/sculpture to a paragraph of creative writing. More mainstream structured training can then follow....construction skills training...further education....vocational qualifications.

We have already got two small ventures abroad in Mozambique and Brazil. We are in the process of building a small art school to support villagers learn craft skills in Mozambique. In Brazil we have raised money in the notoriuos favela da Rocinha in Rio for different groups. Gun crime is rife here, but their is a great community spirit amongst people to better themselves. We now want to get projects up and running in the North of England to build on charity volunteer's past experience. Much of this experience has been recognised by RSA and senior politicians. We aim to honour the work in the name of charity founder Josefina de Vasconcellos MBE a famous sculptor who died in 2005 aged 100 who carried out similar work during her life time.
