Mission Statement

Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Community Foundation is an independent registered charity that helps local people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to give to local causes in their own communities.

Our Mission
Our Mission is to increase the charitable funding that is available to voluntary organisations and community groups active in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We aim to build and sustain a significant endowment fund to provide investment income to support all types of local charitable activity through a grant making service. In addition we will seek to manage the distribution of funds on behalf of others (corporations, statutory, and individuals) to voluntary and community groups in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Our Role
Our role is to provide donor and grant making services which are open, accessible, and user friendly. The aim of our services is to build a bridge between people who care about their local community and the wide range of voluntary and community groups who need their help. We want to help voluntary and community groups to move forward by providing the funds they need to develop and sustain their local community organisations and projects which help the vulnerable people who live in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

In addition we aim to ensure that everyone who uses our donor and grant making services receive the best possible service.

Our Uniqueness
Our uniqueness is our location, our link to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, our package of services, together with the quality of our staff and Trustees, and our determination to make a difference now and in the future.

Our Values
Our values are based on our commitment to achieve our Mission, and to valuing and protecting the vulnerable people in our community, to do this compassionately and fairly, and to do this openly and honestly in a way that will be considered exemplary. We also value our work with other organisations and the relationship we have and accountability we feel to our donor clients and funders and to all those who support our work.
