Sistema Scotland
Mission Statement
Sistema Scotland aims to transform the lives of children in deprived communities of Scotland through music and playing in an orchestra.
Sistema Scotland is a new chairty, established in 2008, inspired by and in partnership with El Sistema, the world renowned orchestral and social development programme in Venezuela which has already seen over 400,000 children pass through its system. Through learning to play together, the children learn to live together and to grow up as confident people with respect for themselves and each other. The orchestra offers an environment for the young musicians to succeed, be challenged and learn that everyone has a contribution to make - to the orchestra, and to life.
Our first centre is in the Raploch area of the Scottish City of Stirling and is called Big Noise. The Big Noise orchestra is for every child, regardless of ability. It is terrific fun and everyone is accepted, children are never ever turned away.
