Scope
Mission Statement
Scope began when four people stood up for the ideal that every child should have the right to an education. Their children had cerebral palsy and at the time were considered "uneducable" --at best to be pitied, at worst discarded by society. Our charity was set up to prove what was possible and to fight for the recognition of the human rights of all disabled people.
Today we combine the delivery of innovative services with our long history of challenge and campaigning. We work annually with thousands of disabled people and their families, to provide practical support, information and advice at all stages of their lives. Our Time to Get Equal campaign continues to promote and protect the human rights of disabled people and is bringing together a mass movement of supporters of equality.
Our mission, like that of our founders, is to drive the change to make our society the first where disabled people achieve equality.
Due Diligence on the Big Give
Donors are advised to conduct their own due diligence prior to giving to a charity. For advice and key questions to ask charities, see Philanthropy UK's advice on giving.
