Ebony Horse Club

Mission Statement

Ebony Horse Club is a charity that helps to improve the life skills, education and attainment of some of the most disadvantaged children and young people growing up in Brixton, South London, by providing access to horse riding, outdoor activities and mentoring.

Ebony prioritises work with: children with educational special needs; children excluded or at risk of exclusion; children in need of extra support (children at risk or at risk of being at risk); bereaved children and ‘looked after’ children. We have been particularly successful with children affected by alcohol and drug misuse in the family, children whose parents are mentally ill, those with offenders in the family and those affected by more than one of these problems. To our members we offer: sport with an outdoor healthy lifestyle; visiting and riding in the countryside; an achievement in a sport they could only dream of and opportunities to try other sports. Above all, we give them an opportunity to belong.
