Walworth Garden Farm
Mission Statement
Walworth Garden Farm is a small local charity that has been in operation since 1987, transforming a former derelict site in a heavily built up inner city area of Southwark into a well stocked farm and training centre.
For many visitors, the Wildlife area, where they can see frogs jump and mini-beasts on the prowl, is a constant source of delight. For others it is the first time they will have seen an apple growing on a tree or helped to lift a potatoe from the ground.
The Farm carries out the following activities:
• Horticultural training for unemployed residents of Southwark,
• Introduction to Gardening – a free introductory 4 day course
• Providing Environmental Education for local schools, wildlife clubs, and the School Orchard Project planting fruit trees in school grounds across London, and
• Providing Horticultural Therapy for people with learning disabilities, basic skills and mental health issues.
• Walworth Garden Services, a Social Enterprise providing garden maintenance and related activities.
Due Diligence on the Big Give
