Shaw Trust
Mission Statement
Shaw Trust was established in 1982 and is now a leading charity in the field of disability and disadvantage.
Our vision is that every disabled and disadvantaged person has the opportunity to work. We support over 50,000 people each year to achieve their potential and promote inclusion through independence, training and employment. Our service-users include people with learning disabilities, mental health problems, physical disabilities, ill health and sensory impairments. We also work with young people and people from disadvantaged areas who are at risk of economic and social exclusion. Our services range from delivery of Government employment programmes, to smaller specialist projects which intensively support individuals with higher level needs.
Due Diligence on the Big Give
Donors are advised to conduct their own due diligence prior to giving to a charity. For advice and key questions to ask charities, see Philanthropy UK's advice on giving.
