Against Breast Cancer

Mission Statement

Against Breast Cancer is a registered charity that was founded in 1993 to fund research into breast cancer. The charity’s researchers, based at University College London (UCL) and Westminster College, are carrying out ground breaking research work to analyse how the cancer cell, the patients' natural resistance and their environment interact together.

There are several strands to the research - biochemistry, immunology, diet and lifestyle. Each one is geared towards discovering how to increase survival after diagnosis and to finding a vaccine against breast cancer.

The charity is funding a unique Diet & Lifestyle study that comprises more than 2,300 women who have breast cancer and spans over 50 hospitals across the UK. It’s the largest study of its type in the world.
