Manchester Jewish Federation
Mission Statement
Manchester Jewish Federation (The Fed) is a charity which offers a wide variety of support to the 30,000 people in the Jewish Community of Greater Manchester. We are the leading Jewish social welfare organisation in Manchester serving people of all ages with a broad range of needs, across the religious spectrum. At any one time we are actively supporting approximately 10% of the community.
We provide help to the frail and elderly, people with physical disabilities and mental health problems, carers, individuals and families in crisis, children in need and chidren with special needs. Our culturally sensitive services range from the most complex professional assessment through to the most practical down to earth support. These include: social work assessment and support; mental health drop-in; one to one and group support of carers, the bereaved and people with mental health problems; volunteer befriending and practical assistance, including a respite sitting service for carers; Project Smile respite service for families of children with special needs or in crisis; information and advice through our referral and advice officer and regular project newsletters
