Breakthrough Breast Cancer

Mission Statement

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the largest and most influential breast cancer charity in the UK. We fight breast cancer on three fronts - Research; Campaigning; and Education. We fund scientists so it will no longer be a ‘life threatening’ condition thanks to more effective treatments. We campaign to give patients access to the most appropriate treatments and services. Our health promotion work helps women to recognise the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and receive an accurate and timely diagnosis.

In the UK, nearly 46,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, making it the most common form of cancer. With friends and family all affected by a diagnosis, millions of us will experience the difficulties and distress that breast cancer can bring. Today, as a direct result of our research, campaigning and education, fewer women die of breast cancer than 10 years ago. We are saving lives.
